This afternoon we went looking for blueberries with some friends. Our family was able to pick 4 quarts. It looks like it will be another week before they will be at their best as we found lots and lots of green berries.

Blueberries will soon be in season. This afternoon after church we went south of Warroad scouting around and managed to pick almost a quart the same as we did last year on our first time out. There appears to be lots of green berries so the picking should be good. I have some kids who are hoping to sell berries this year if they can pick enough.

It's closing in on the time of year when the blueberries are ready to pick. On our way home form church today we stopped about 1/2 miles from our house to check out a patch of berries and we were able to pick about a half a small (Laura sized) hand that were ripe. There appears to be lots of green berries that should be ready in a couple weeks just in time for my 5 day weekend. Hopefully we'll be able to get out and fill the freezer - unless the kids decide to sell them.

Jackpine Retreat

In just over two months on September 12-14, 2008 the Warroad Area Church of Christ will be hosting the Jackpine Retreat. We picked out a theme (Running The Race), we have started putting together a flyer and will soon be looking for volunteers to speak. If you would like to volunteer yourself or another :) to speak me know. If you would like to recive a flyer you can let me know as well. I'll try to keep things updated when possible.
